Frequently asked questions

Is the photo sent anywhere for recognition?

No. Text recognition and face detection run right in your browser – only the tool itself is downloaded from our server, the same for everyone.

Does it find every face?

Most of them, small ones in the background too – also try Also look for very small faces. Always check the result; blur anything it misses by hand.

Why is text redacted instead of blurred?

Blurred or pixelated text can sometimes be read. Redaction is certain – nothing is left underneath.

Are my images uploaded to a server?

No. Images are processed right in your browser and never leave your device. Only the tool itself is downloaded from our server, the same for everyone. More in our privacy policy.
