Frequently asked questions

How much smaller will my photo get?

Phone photos usually shrink by 60–90%, depending on the content and the quality you choose. For email or the web, quality 75 looks the same as the original.

How do I compress an image to an exact size in KB?

Check At most and enter the limit, for example 500 KB for an official form. The tool finds the highest quality that fits; if even the lowest isn’t enough, it reduces the dimensions too.

Does it compress PNG too?

Yes, PNG is optimized without losing quality. For a much smaller file, convert it to JPG or WebP with the Format option.

Are my images uploaded to a server?

No. Images are processed right in your browser and never leave your device. Only the tool itself is downloaded from our server, the same for everyone. More in our privacy policy.
