Frequently asked questions

What is WebP?

An image format that websites use for smaller files. Some programs and older systems can’t open it, while JPG opens everywhere.

What about transparency?

JPG can’t store transparency, so transparent areas turn white. To keep it, convert the image to PNG.

And animated WebP?

The first frame of the animation is converted.

Are my images uploaded to a server?

No. Images are processed right in your browser and never leave your device. Only the tool itself is downloaded from our server, the same for everyone. More in our privacy policy.
