Frequently asked questions
Will converting to PNG improve the quality?
No, the JPG loss is already in the image. PNG only makes sure nothing more is lost in further edits and saves.
Why is the PNG bigger?
PNG stores every pixel without loss. For photos it’s often several times bigger than JPG; for graphics and logos it’s ideal.
Can I make a transparent background in PNG?
PNG supports transparency, but the conversion doesn’t create it – the photo’s background stays as it is.
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. Images are processed right in your browser and never leave your device. Only the tool itself is downloaded from our server, the same for everyone. More in our privacy policy.
