Frequently asked questions

Can a redaction be removed?

No. The saved image has only black pixels under the redaction – the original content is gone from it.

How do I find personal data automatically?

The Anonymize tool recognizes the text in the image and finds emails, phone numbers, account numbers or ID numbers. Redact them with one tap.

Is the metadata removed too?

Yes. The saved image has no GPS location or other metadata of the original, unless you explicitly keep the date and camera.

Are my images uploaded to a server?

No. Images are processed right in your browser and never leave your device. Only the tool itself is downloaded from our server, the same for everyone. More in our privacy policy.
