Frequently asked questions

Which format should I choose?

JPG for photos (small files that open everywhere), PNG for graphics, screenshots and transparency, WebP for the web – smaller than JPG at the same quality.

What happens to transparency?

PNG and WebP keep it. JPG can’t store transparency, so transparent areas turn white.

Which formats can you open?

JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC and HEIF from iPhones, AVIF, GIF and BMP. From an animated GIF, the first frame is converted.

Are my images uploaded to a server?

No. Images are processed right in your browser and never leave your device. Only the tool itself is downloaded from our server, the same for everyone. More in our privacy policy.
