Frequently asked questions

Are the colors real?

No, the model estimates them from what it recognizes – skin, sky, grass, clothing. The result is usually convincing, but it cannot know the actual colors of the time.

Why does the model take a while to download?

A good colorization model is about 260 MB. It is downloaded only the first time, then stays in your browser and also works offline.

Does the photo stay sharp?

Yes. The model only decides the colors; brightness and detail stay from the original at full resolution.

Are my images uploaded to a server?

No. Images are processed right in your browser and never leave your device. Only the tool itself is downloaded from our server, the same for everyone. More in our privacy policy.
